India has a population of more than 1.3 billion. More than three-quarters of the country’s people live in rural regions, consisting of around 6,00,000 communities. To support their family back home, many young people leave their villages to pursue work and end up living in urban slums. Our mountainous regions are littered with thousands and thousands of ghost towns, where young people have abandoned farming to pursue work in cities. An immense challenge is being tackled by numerous initiatives, including supporting vocational training programs, fostering traditional arts, boosting animal husbandry techniques, and building up small businesses.
As part of the Sanrakshan Foundation‘s Livelihood Mission, the organization works with women involved in farming or business or employed as farm or non-farm labor. With various creative approaches, we help women develop secure and sustainable livelihoods and rise out of poverty for the long term. Initiatives in the livelihood sector focus on enhancing skills, establishing assets, forming collectives, and developing an inclusive value chain that includes males and other significant players.
Sanrakshan Foundation ensures the safety and protection of our seniors and our Corona fighters on the ground by following all safety and hygienic procedures, such as wearing face masks, frequent washing and sanitization of hands, and respecting social distance standards at all times.
